RELAXING
Lake Macquarie’s natural landscape provides plenty of opportunity to unwind, with
endless options to take advantage of the spectacular scenery. The extensive shared
pathways winding through the bush and along the lake are the perfect setting for a
lazy afternoon stroll or a fresh morning cycle, with a number of beautiful cleared
areas just calling out for family picnics and barbeques.
For those who prefer water activities, the crystal clear lake caters for every pursuit.
With an expanse of deep water and a climate that enjoys light sea breezes all year
round, the lake is a favourite of yachtsmen and boat owners. The many secluded
bays and coves provide shelter on breezy days and are perfect for fishing, exploring,
swimming, snorkelling and waterskiing.
Those who like to relax with a round of golf are extremely well served in Lake
Macquarie, with five international courses - Cypress Lakes, The Vintage, Pacific
Dunes, Koonindah Waters, and Magenta Shores - and a plethora of local courses all
within 45 minutes. The famous Hunter Valley vineyards are also only 40 minutes
away, providing the perfect day out for locals and visitors to the area alike.
